India is Rising

India is rising and so are the people of India. In all walks of life, we see the names of Indians shine. They are the new candle bearers in the march of progress, perfection, creativity and caliber. After living in America for nearly 3 years and having been approached by Americans as an intelligent, hard working, capable, dynamic and educated Indian, it has been a pleasure. Thanks to the Narayan Murthy's and Azim Premji's who have brought India into the world map.

The last decade saw significant changes and trends in favor of India, from the emerging markets to increasing buying power. To sum it all, India is taking a step closer to become a global super-power. While it amazes me at times , from the snake charmer and the land of elephants image , India has grown to the level that people now recognize Indian talent.

It still has a long way to go to achieve perfection and establish systems to operate the economy along with managing its people well. The patchy development in India scares me at times. While certain cities are emerging as the new eldorados, some others are dying like my home town Bhilai. A well known steel city known as a beautifully planned township with emphasis on higher education, a city that has chruned as many IITians as doctors and people still recognize it as one of the intellectual banks of the country.

Although, most of the topics this blog will address will by far be far removed from the subject I am discussing above. However, I will take every attempt to highlight such facts whenever it is the right time to introduce some perspective to a talk.

Through this blog, I not only want to capture the ways India is rising as a power in the global economy but also want to highlight the cultural aspects of India which are as diverse as the world population.

Also, my main focus is to cover the information gathered to start a business in India and the bottlenecks that one has to face both bureacratic and cultural. This is an attempt to cover many different aspects under one heading which is unreal and difficult. I will try my best to keep it going and through these discussions it will be great to analyze what we do best and what we need to do.

I would like to wish the readers good luck and hopefully will hear from you in the form of comments and feedback in the months to come. Welcome and Happy reading !!
